Well, we just got back from our week long adventure in Washington and in Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun. I got to see family that I haven't seen in about 15 years and also got to explore Spokane a little bit more.
We went to a park called Manito Park. There are lots of gardens in the park. So pretty. In one particular park- Duncan Gardens- (it's an English style) there is a fountain right in the middle. Well, when we were little- my sister and I- Vanessa was playing and she fell into this particular fountain. My mom says that she saved her life, but the water was like 2 feet deep. She could have easily stood up. Anyways, we went to that fountain and I made fun of her. LOL. There was a Japanese garden, a rose garden, a lilac garden, and a duck pond. There were more things, but we didn't have a whole lot of time.
We also went to Riverside State Park. That was alright. There was this bridge that was an old wooden suspention bridge. I'm so terrified of bridges that I didn't go across it. I just watched Seth and Porter have their fun.
We went to the river and then to a park that is on the river. That was cool.
It was so weird seeing my family again. There were 2 new cousins that I hadn't met so that made it even more special.
My dad is buried in the Holy Cross Cemetary there and my mom is supposed to be. (Long story.) So we went to his grave and put flowers down. That meant a lot to me.
Then on the way back we decided to go to Yellowstone cuz it wasn't too far out of the way and I had never been there. So incredibly cool!! I came face to face with a coyote. That was terrifying. But I was talking to my aunt and she said that the natives believe that if you come across a coyote and it doesn't hurt you that it is a sign that good things will happen in the near future. So that was cool. (I'm part Chippewa.) And we saw lots of buffalo and elk. Porter ran around a lot in the meadows.
All in all, it was a very good trip. To see pics from Yellowstone click on this link. http://picasaweb.google.com/tinlizzie85/YellowstoneAug2007
