Okay, now I feel terrible

It's already the middle of August?? Where does the time go? I know I said I would do better in updating... Ooops. So here goes from what I can remember. LOL

Besides birthdays, Seth's sister graduated from Utah State University on the 3rd. So my birthday was spent in Logan and then back down to Salt Lake for lunch with my mom, then onto Lehi for dinner with Seth's family considering we were celebrating 3 birthdays, mine Seth and Bub. Then I went home and discovered that I had gotten my Awake Live DVD 3 days early so I popped that in. I was fairly disappointed. People who weren't there would think it was wonderful, but they cut sooo much out, it was sad.

I dragged Seth with me to Vegas to go meet my friend Karen from Pennsylvania. That was a ton of fun! Seth and I stayed at the Luxor, but the only downfall to the trip was that I had bronchitis and I couldn't talk! I tried really hard, but nothing. Anyways, so we went to dinner in the NYNY hotel at a fancy Italian restaurant the first night we were there and then walked around. They had never been to Vegas so we showed them around a bit. Day 2- we walked around the strip and went to the M&M factory store and we wanted to go up the Eiffel tower, but it was closed for the day due to the crappy weather. We met up with some other lady in Mandalay Bay and come to find out she had an extra ticket to the show! So I bought it off her. Poor Seth was all alone for 4 hours, but I highly doubt he cared. He took a nap and then gambled a bit and had a couple drinks.

OMG, the show was AMAZING!!! Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Andrea Boccelli... can't get any better than that! There were so many guest appearances, it was insane. David Foster seemed a bit drunk or high or something and kept rambling on about ex wives and stuff... There was this girl there from the Phillipines that had the most beautiful voice. I was in tears. Wow.

So after the show, we met up with Seth and went and got a couple drinks... hahaha... me drinking... I just had a mango daquari with an extra rum shot, but because I hardly ever drink it hit me. Hard. LOL.

Seth's sister got married. That was beautiful. Her dress was gorgeous and I got to wear the dress that I wore for Vanessa's wedding again.

Oh yeah, I found out I was pregnant. Let's just say it's a Vegas baby... yeah... I'm due Feb 27. For any Grobies reading this, you know the significance of that date. LOL. But it's a scheduled C-section so I'm having the baby on the 20th.

Vanessa had her baby. Thomas Kelly Marrott. Soooo cute. She had him at Orem Community Hospital on the 11th. I'm an auntie again!! I have issues with Vanessa being a mom, but that's for another time.

Porter was in the hospital for 2 days because he had pneumonia. Poor kid. And then I got a urinary tract infection and then the stomach flu on top of that. Ick.

August

I helped my mom move last weekend. That was sad. I've been in that house for 15 years, it was the house that I grew up in. It was so weird to see the house full of boxes and it echoed. Almost made me cry. But like I told her, someone else will make memories in that house and we can make new memories in the new house.

Porter has definately hit his terrible 2s. OMG, he's a nightmare! Whines all the time and it doesn't help that he's a daddy's boy so when Seth leaves for work, he screams bloody murder. Then again, he screams bloody murder when I try to feed him dinner and when I take a shower... I'm surprised the neighbors haven't called child services on us. LOL

So as most know, I'm majorly addicted to the Twilight series. Well, I got the 4th book, Breaking Dawn, and I have to say I was disappointed. I won't go into details for anyone who hasn't read them, but stuff was skipped over and character development wasn't great... I just hope that the movie is good. The previews look okay.

My good opinion once lost, is lost forever.

Well, seeing as how I've been doing such a horrible job with this whole blog thing, for which I truly am sorry, I decided that because Porter is sleeping that I would sit here and update.

Let's see, the main events that have happened... February... ah yes, Vanessa's wedding. That was... interesting. The ceremony took place in Kevin's family church (LDS) and let me just state this out in the open... I HATE KEVIN'S FAMILY!!! Anyways, we get there early to get ready. People were coming and going and so it was just basically strip down wherever there was a space. LOL. Her colors were black, red and silver so I had a black dress that sparkled and some really pretty silver sparkly heels. I had gone out and bought a whole bunch of jewelry, necklace, bracelets --I bought 2 so that Vanessa and I would both have one, earrings and some hair clips. Vanessa ended up doing my hair while I hurried with my makeup. Both of us just ended up pulling it up anyways. Haha.

Vanessa's dress was very simple, but gorgeous! Cap sleeves and it laced up in the back. But I think what made it more special to me was that she wore my tiara and my veil from my wedding. We both got our nails done matching with a red stripe thingy across the middle of the nail. So cute!

Well, the piano started playing and I walked out. Mind you, I'm trying to be happy and smiling while I'm walking down the aisle, but Tim STILL isn't talking to me, so the first thing I see in the hallway is him glaring at me. Grrrr.... But, I didn't let it get to me. The ceremony was short and very nice. But, when the bishop said to kiss the bride, all Kevin did was a little peck. So me being the loud one, I guess, yelled, "Awww, c'mon! You call that a kiss?" Yeah, I got some looks from that one. ROFL

We changed and went to lunch at some really weird hick cafe, but the food was really good. Then it was back to the church for the reception.

My uncle Brian was doing the pictures and oh man was he bossy. Grrr.... And to make it worse, when they did the family shot of Pamela, Tim, Vanessa, Ben and Joe, I wasn't allowed to be in it. Because I'm apparently "not family" Pissed me off so bad. They let me be in the pics with just the siblings or the ones of the aunts and uncles... the Bird side. Gah, seriously, I'm really the only family Vanessa's got. But it was just cuz Tim didn't want to be in the pictures with me. He really needs to get over that. Vanessa decided to do a line. Ugh, so mad. And so I'm standing there between Pamela and Vanessa and Pamela kept introducing me as the "matron of honor." Yes, I was, but "Liz, Vanessa's sister" would have worked just fine. People kept saying to Pamela, "Oh you have 2 very beautiful daughters" and we just smiled and nodded... if they only knew... Then Libby and Tessie show up. Yay for besties! I didn't care if anybody got mad, I was sick of standing there talking to complete strangers that I wasn't even going to be related to.

But then more drama. Libby and Tessie hate eachother and they showed up at the same time. Joy... But when Libby showed up the first thing she did was lift up the back of her shirt to show me her wicked cool new tatoo. Yeah, that didn't go over well with the family. Tessie was supposed to get there way earlier, but supposedly got lost or something... one of her many excuses.

Then Vanessa changed and Kevin and her drove away in a nice white stretch limo off to their *cough* romantic *cough* honeymoon in Provo. *gigglesnort*

March... ah, Vanessa's birthday and Easter

And the drama continues... Vanessa's birthday we went to go eat at Cowboy Grub up in Salt Lake. We have been going there for as long as I can remember, so of course Vanessa is going to want to go to dinner there. I show up with Porter cuz Seth had to work, and there are some chairs open down by my cousin and brothers. So I sit there since it was away from everyone and the only chairs. Well, Tim says hi to Porter and completely ignores me, even when I make the effort to be nice. Whatever. So I'm texting Keren and we decide to bring Josh into the conversation. So I yell down the table to my mom, "Mom! Josh's Awake Live DVD comes out May 6! Can you believe it? 3 days after my birthday!" She just smiled and went back to talking. WTF? THEN, she's like, "Come down here so we can talk. There's chairs open." So I go down and nobody bothers talking to me. So I continue to text. Later I realize that everybody has their food except me. I had gotten my coke, but that was it. So frustrating. Not a good night. I seriously drove home in tears listening to You are Loved and Smile.

Easter... That was better. It was at Merry and Brian's and we just ate and had an easter egg hunt. Nothing too special about that.

Porter is 2 now! His birthday was on the 11 of April. We had the party on the 12 since it was a Saturday. Seth made the cake, it was a Lightning McQueen cake, and both sides of the family showed up. And Libby and Tyler and Cameron did at the very end. Nothing interesting except all my nephews and my brothers were playing baseball in the front yard and I was soooo paranoid that they were going to break my brand new windows. That would have pissed me off so bad. I kept saying, "You break 'em, hand over $4,000"

And now I think we are up to date. I just finished spring break and I keep telling myself... only 5 weeks left, only 5 weeks.... And of course, the kids are super hyper cuz they've been out of school for a week. And Karla is still in Hawaii, so I had to do lunch duty by myself without any notice whatsoever. But on the bright side, Memorial Day weekend, I'm gonna be in Vegas! Woo!

I know when my family knows me way too well when I say I'm going to Vegas and the first thing they ask is, "This has got to be Josh involved." Yeah, way too well.

And only 2 weeks left til the DVD is out! Soooo happy!!

Wow! I apologize for such a long wait. Hmmm... a lot has happened since I last posted.

First off- my sister Vanessa got married on Friday. That was fun. But the thing that made me mad was that hardly anybody from our side showed up. It was all Kevin's family and friends. But Kevin redeemed himself by surprising Vanessa with a limo to take them to their hotel. :)

I MET JOSH GROBAN! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! Yes, the one person I like, what's the word, idolize ran into me! We were at a restaurant- me, Seth, Porter and a couple of Seth's friends. Seth had taken Porter out to the car cuz he was being a butt. It was uber crowded and I kept getting bumped into. Well, I saw this huge group of people coming out, so I backed up. Apparently not enough cuz BAM! I got smacked right in the shoulder. The man was nice enough to put his arm on my shoulder and say, "I'm so sorry." I was going to reply with some smart-ass remark, but I was like, "wait, I recognize that voice... no, it couldn't be..." and I look up and lo and behold JOSH GROBAN is smiling at me! I just stood there, looking like the biggest idiot. He was like, "have a nice night!" and he turned and walked out the door. I just stood there in shock. Wow! And did he look good! Not that he never does. He had on a hat and his glasses and was scruffy. He had on a blue puffy coat and some brown? pants with white sneakers. THUD! He's been in town for the Sundance Film Festival. All I have to say is OMG!!!!!! My one dream has come true! Now to actually meet him and say something to him. LOL.

I went and saw Atonement and I Am Legend. Good movies. I loved the cinematography in Atonement. Keira Knightly and James McAvoy were wonderful. I Am Legend was weird. Will Smith is amazing as usual, but the zombie people were kinda weird. Not really scary, but just strange. The endings in both movies threw me for a loop.

Porter is cutting his bottom front teeth finally. And the poor kid has been sick. :( But he has picked up some new words. Uh-oh, no, hi doggy, uh-huh, nuh-uh, wow, whoa, yeah. Mind you, he started saying these all in one day. Can you imagine how surprised I was? LOL.
