Vacation

We are leaving tonight to go to Washington. Wish us luck. We'll be there for a week, so I'll write more when we get back.

Heat and bugs- bad combo

This is Porter so sad because he didn't want to take a nap. Well, that's only part of it. He went to the doctor and got his 15 month imminunizations and also had his first dentist appointment. Turns out that this poor little guy is getting all of his teeth all at once. So his is in extreme pain. But on the bright side, he will only have to do it once and I will only have to deal with his screaming for a couple of months. Hallelujah!!

I went to the pediatrist today and it turns out that the reason that my left ankle is so swollen is because I have tendonitis. I've had tendonitis billions of times when I used to run, but it was always in the achilles tendon. This time it's on the side of my foot. Dr. Rogers told me that it's more common in women. He gave me this stuff called blue gel formula to fub on it when it starts to hurt. It's the weirdest stuff ever. It's blue but it's really light weight and dissolves almost instantly. It's really soothing and it smells like icy-hot. I also scheduled my surgery for my right foot for the 5th of October. I thought I should get it done before the first snow fall.

Ew, the bugs are so bad this year. We keep saying that we are going to cut down our tree, but we never end up having enough time and it is also the only shade that we have in our yard. But with the tree down the bugs would go away. They are boxelder bugs which don't seem to have any purpose on this earth except to annoy me. They are everywhere!! I come home and can count at least 10 on my ceiling during the day. So then I spend the time to squish every single one and then there are more. It's like in Arachnephobia with the spiders- you kill one and they multiply. Bugs me so bad!!! Stupid boxelder tree. It also doesn't help that it has been really really hot. Funny story- we have a bug zapper for the night time. Well, today I was so sick of the bugs that I turned it on in the middle of the afternoon. I swear I killed so many bugs. I heard zapping for a good minute. I was laughing so hard. I should do that more often.

All I wish for right now is a little rain. "Is it too much to ask for a little precipitation?!" Watch Evan Almighty for that one. LOL.

Swimming

I took Porter swimming today at the Sport's Complex with Libby and Cameron. Porter had a blast. Well, he's teething so it was kinda hard, but he didn't want to get out of the water. He didn't like the life jacket at all. So I eventually took it off and just walked around with him. It was his first time swimming in a public pool. We've taken him to lakes and stuff, but first time in a pool. I think I might take him more often.

Busy busy busy!!!

Whew, we've had a busy weekend. Seth decided to buy a truck since he's been begging and begging for one and we've finally been able to afford it. So, he's at the DMV getting the temp tags and stuff for it and when he's backing out he runs into some girls car. She was speeding through the parking lot and wanted the spot by him and didn't look to see that he was backing out. He hadn't even gone 3 feet. And now the family is trying to blame it on him. The girl was 17 and had only had her license for a couple months. LOL.

Then we took my car in to get the transmission fixed. Finally. So now I have no way of getting around cuz Seth won't let me drive the truck because "it's too big and it's touchy."

That night, (Friday) we took Rupert out to the lake so that he could play in the water. Porter loved it. Rupert was chasing birds all around and playing in the water. Porter sat in the water and splashed around. He found rocks and was throwing them in and just having so much fun. He got really mad when we had to go home.

Saturday Seth had a work fishing trip up at Payson Lakes. We left nice and early, but we still didn't get there until about 9:30 am. We find a good spot to chill and Porter decided to play in the water. So we let him splash around. Then he starts screaming and wouldn't stop. We didn't even have a chance to put our poles in the water before we left. So we drove the rest of the way around the Nebo loop and by the time we got to Nephi it was noon and Porter finally fell asleep. When we got home Porter ran through the sprinklers for the first time. So cute!! We bought Rupert a swimming pool from Walmart since it was soooo incredibly hot. Then we had a bbq up in Sandy with the company that helped up with our loan. I called my cousin Rachel cuz they wanted to hang out. I gave her and Lee directions to the park and assumed that they could get there cuz Lee's from Sandy. Well, I get this call saying that they were up Big Cottonwood canyon and they couldn't find the park. So I laughed a bit and gave them directions again. Rachel called and said that Lee was getting really frustrated that he couldn't find it so they were just gonna go home. I laughed and wondered how someone could get confused with North and South Sandy and the canyon... And he said he was good with directions... LOL. So we left and went to Seth's parent's house in Lehi and stayed for a while.

Yesterday was just a blah day. We decided to get a bookcase for the living room so that Porter's books weren't everywhere. That went well... Porter destroyed everything. So we had to wait until he was asleep to finish putting it together and putting stuff on it. It looks really good now.

I was able to see Vanessa for a few minutes on Saturday before the bbq. She was at my grandparents house- up the street- and needed some Claritin cuz the Benadryl allergy medicine was making her sleepy. She looked like crap. She wasn't able to go anywhere or talk to anybody except the family. She said that she would be home until Monday, so I called her this morning and turns out that Pamela decided that she had to go home early. But she will be home tomorrow and Wednesday, so maybe I'll have a chance to see her then and actually be able to talk to her.

So that's what's been going on. I'm frantically trying to get everything ready for Rachel's bridal shower on Saturday and it doesn't help that she never answers her phone. Hopefully I can get in touch with her by Friday so that we can decide what food she wants and games etc.
